We...? I..?

Mangalore
I never thought watching, or reading about elections, knowing about the contestants, about the campaignings etc would be of any interest to me. Simply because politics bore me especially after being  in India and watching our politics and politicians. But I surprised myself, when I was keenly following this times American Presidential elections! The best thing I read  was...When all  Americans are voting,  the whole world is holding their breath and watching! How true! Directly, indirectly what happens in America matters to the future of the whole universe! And how well the contestants show and talk about it,?  Whether its Mitt Romney or Barack Obama..in all their speeches you get to hear....WE the Americans, Together WE can do it, or WE are there because of You! We are for You! They sound truthful, committed and so people have faith and they believe what they are hearing! It was but impressive, the way one handled his defeat by coming with his entire family, well dressed, and saying the  right words with such dignity and composure, while, With the same dignity, composure and of course elation, the winner presented him and his family in front of his supporters,in front of the world! "My victory is not accidental but it is our joint efforts and hardwork", is what he started off in his victory speech! Both promised to work with each other victory or defeat, for the benefit of all! Sounds unreal for us Indians, since we see tables banging, chair throwing in our parliamentary scenes, from what ever we watch or read! "Together we can solve the world's biggest challenges" Bill Clinton's state ment I came across today and he is not even the President any more, but normal civilian ! wow..this is what we get to hear from the worlds richest country and its people...."WE"!!! I was driving to go to my gym, and since my left lane is about to come from the main traffic loaded road, with left signal on,...I was about to take a turn but wait for the pedestrian to cross the road where there is no signal for him. More than me waiting for him what surprised me was he was all cool, and taking his own sweet time to cross  not bothered about he holding me, or me in the process holding the whole traffic! I need to cross at my own pace is the deal here! This is not the only case...! Bus drivers suddenly halting their vehicles with out any warning,Over taking from the wrong side, people stopping their vehicles at turnings, etc etc is what we get to see most of the time. I am sure can be agreed by one and all since this is what our peoples mentality is. "I" matters! STOP. Rest all go to hell, I have to reach the top! I don't give a damn but I make or break the rules for my convenience! I am OK..what I care about others? I am enjoying the party, what is with the people who wait on me for my comfort? Again there is nothing wrong to think about ones own self..., and we must by all means!  But at the cost of others in general public places? come on we cant be that selfish!!...cant we think about "WE" for a change? As civilians , while driving or using public properties ,roads etc for the benefit of all, is what I mean!Public toilets are so bad to use, simply because very few think about the "next" who ever that is! I have used, or I am done, it does not matter what others do, is the general attitude!I should be the first, I need the best, thats it! Trash disposals, garbage problems, traffic blocks, water issues, electricity disputes... I am sure all these public issues are just because of  this "I" attitude! Keep my house clean, keep my family well,...others..hm..what does it matter to me? This attitude is not just  with civilians but from our political roots..!Our  so called rulers, Don't you think so? The way our politicians wash each others dirty linen in public is the proof to how self centered we all are. How selfish our thinking is, and how narrow our minds are becoming! I do wish and hope that in the next 50 years may be our public get to hear speeches like, that of in USA. Then surely our  public will say.."We" rather than "I"!! what say??
