Mangalore 2011 DEC 26Th
The last week of year2011...do I want to rewind it before wrapping it up? Can i take an inventory of the whole year what happened and whom I met? good things, bad memories, good people bad experiences..so much to remember, so much to think of. If a dear ones visit made a day special, another day was spoilt by meeting some one not so pleasant! Every day was important every month had something to offer! Some special things and special people...new places and old friends! Yes this year in particular was a real mixture of everything! I travelled extensively, had experiences of all kinds...If I do not wish to forget how I was softly cheated by the hotel front desk people at Amritsar, I do wish to remember the coolies who went out of their way to help us in Jhansi Railway station! The fun I had with my kids in Miami or the memories I would cherish with friends in Delhi! One very dear person gave life time memories to live with another left a mark never to forget! Its like Fable of the porcupine.......
It was the coldest winter ever. Many animals died because of the cold. The porcupines, realizing the situation, decided to group together to keep warm. This way they covered and protected themselves; but the quills of each one wounded their closest companions. After awhile, they decided to distance themselves one from the other and they began to die, alone and frozen. So they had to make a choice: either accept the quills of their companions or disappear from the Earth. Wisely, they decided to go back to being together. They learned to live with the little wounds caused by the close relationship with their companions in order to receive the warmth that came from the others. This way they were able to survive. Moral of the story: The best relationship is not the one that brings together perfect people, but when each individual learns to live with the imperfections of others and can admire the other person's good qualities.
The real moral of the story......LEARN TO LIVE WITH THE PRICKS IN YOUR LIFE! Best way to Wrap the year with this thought in mind, what say?
